At some point, the right thing is simply to go.
You don’t need to over-plan. You don’t need to optimize the itinerary. You don’t need to check reviews and cross-reference options until the decision itself becomes exhausting.
At some point, just go. And when your in the mountains with the person you love, in a hot tub, with no agenda, you’ll finally have time to rest and reset.
This is what Mt. Baker is for.

Why One Bedroom Is Enough
The impulse when booking a couples trip is sometimes to get more space than you need, as if the extra room will make the experience larger.
It won’t.
A well-chosen one-bedroom cabin in the Glacier corridor does something different. It removes the extra space, which means two things: low cost, and cozy. Just a kitchen to cook in together, a hot tub to sit in under the pines, a bed with a view of the trees, and time that has no particular direction.
The mountain is waiting for you. Take your time with it.
What a Weekend Actually Looks Like
Friday Arrive before dark. Get groceries in Bellingham or Ferndale on the way up, the town of Glacier is small and beautiful, but stock up before you get there. Once you arrive, maybe start a fire in the fireplace, or get right into the hot tub. Nothing’s specific, but either way you should open up something good.
Saturday Choose your effort level honestly. If you both want to hike Chain Lakes, go. If one of you wants to read on the deck while the other walks to the falls, go. A couples trip isn’t a performance; you don’t have to spend every moment together. The mountain accommodates all speeds.
Sunday Sleep past when you normally would. Coffee before anything else. A short walk, if it calls. A drive past the waterfall on the way back down. The return to ordinary life goes better when you’ve earned it.
